13th November 2013
A busy month of Walking Weeks, Trekking weeks and Exodus groups – 4 groups arriving in successive weeks. All excellent fun and very satisfying to feed and house our guests so their holidays are memorable – many thanks to Carol George and Mike, old friends from previous visits, Ami and Ran, who came all the way from Israel to Walk the Aitana mountains with José Miguel, and to the two Exodus groups of 14 ( too many to name!) who always have such a good time here that the early mornings and late nights don´t seem to count.
Eating and Drinking
Liz has done cooking for Spain – and my contribution to the Facebook etc pages has been a bit food-dominated. Well, I only get to be the waiter ( though i am allowed to cook the Tortillas) so I have to do something!
For this meal ( picture , left):
Entrantes: Mussels in vainaigrette and salad: Spanish omelette ( Tortilla): Liz-made Empanadillas ( spicy sardine pasties)
Main course: Pinchos Morunos – (solomillo kebabs with preserved lemon etc marinade) – vegetarian kebabs also. Tomato salad with “black” Kumato tomatoes and red onions and Baked Potatoes
Dessert: Apple tart from Sella´s Santamaría bakery with “leche merengada” – real Spanish ice-cream from Xixona
20 October 2013
A small step for you, but a giant leap for Casaroc! I have learnt how to import all the old weather posts from SellaWalks and how to put them onto their own page here on Casaroc.com! Result!!
The first of our Autumn Walking Weeks just finished – and a great October time it was too – temperatures in the upper twenties, beautiful days up on the ridges and summits of the Aitana, Puig Campana and Aitana summit both reached: a quite remarkable week for both the guides and the guided!
The Programme:
Sunday – arrival and La Ruta del Agua (3 hours, round Sella)
Monday – Font de L ´Arbre and Aitana Summit
Tuesday – Camino de Santiago – Sella-Relleu-Sella
Wednesday . Barranc de l Árc and Sirvent
Thursday – Free day
Friday – Buddhist Valley and Puig Campana summit
Saturday – Penya de Sella Ridge and Divino summit
Extract from our Visitors Book:
“This our third visit to Sella and it would be easy to assume that the Casaroc experience would lessen with time. Nothing could be further from the truth. Sella retains its magic, Steve and Martin devise and lead walks which continue to challenge and enchant in equa lmeasure while Liz prepares meals which live in the memory long after the plane has landed back in the UK.
Casaroc itself is very comfortable and provides a relaxing environment at the end of a busy day.
My ” always correst” husband has just reminded me that this is actually or 4th visit! and that i should also mention the wonderful humour and banter enjoyed on our walks – I genuinely believe he means that generated by Steve and Martin – not just his own!
